Like the other reviewers have said, Prof. Turner is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subjects he teaches. However the cause of my lower-than-average grade was due to the very large amount of vocabulary and readings that are included in the tests. It was hard to judge what material to study, since we had a textbook, packet, as well as a nonfiction book readings included in the tests. This, along with the multiple choice nature of the tests (no partial credit) made it easy to do poorly on tests. If you did poorly on the two exams, you have little to no chance to bring your grade up because there were a total of 4 grades including the tests.

Very easy course by a really knowledgable professor. You don't really have to go to class ever because he puts all of the slides online and the tests are almost only just vocabulary.

Turner is a really interesting guy. If you take the time to engage him you'll make the class a lot easier, and if you're interested in business the classes go by quickly. You'll often watch movies he selects from 60 minutes, and will tell you pretty much everything that's going to be on the test. Make sure you go to class later in the semester because he'll give you answers to questions on the final just for showing up.

Great professor, he really wants you to do well and he has your best interest in mind.

Not a very hard class, you should definitely go to all the classes and pay attention. He posts the slides so you don't need to take notes necessarily, but you should definitely just pay attention to make sure you understand everything. And it's a small class, so it's not like a huge boring lecture. He also shows videos basically every other class, which is a really nice break and they are always relevant and interesting (usually 60 minutes pieces).

He tells you what you need to know for the tests which is helpful because there is often a lot of information and it's hard to determine what really matters and what he really cares about, but he makes it clear.

Not a hard class, definitely a worthwhile class to take if you're interested in Business and want to get a general understanding of what it's all about. And if you're going to take the class, definitely take it with Turner--he's very knowledgeable, nice, and funny.

Great professor who is very knowledgeable. He comes from a supply chain background, and loves talking about it. But he also does a very good job of explaining the other aspects of business. He helps you understand the material and not just know it.

You need to do some studying if you want to do well in this class, but he tells you what terms to know from the book and make sure to study his powerpoints too. Overall, great professor.

Professor Turner is awesome. Very knowledgable. Shows videos that are really interesting and does a good job bringing the material to life. Has great conversations with the class. One of my favorite classes, he is very approachable. Take him if you can.

I love this professor! He is able to bring in his personal experience working for Toys 'R Us into his lectures, and obviously has a great knowledge and passion for all aspects of business. While I already knew a lot of what he was teaching I still found the class enjoyable and compelling - his enthusiasm is enough to make me think twice about being in Supply Chain and Information Systems!

As long as you attend class and read the textbooks (don't need to take notes unless you have a really bad memory when it comes to vocabulary), and participate in the group project, you should come out with a big fat plump A.

A great course for anyone who wants to learn how to read the business section of the newspaper and learn about all the majors offered at the business school!

Amazing professor. I would definitely take another course with him if I was a supply chain management major. Turner explains everything and loves to just talk with his students.

Cool guy. He's really into music (an audiophile), thus he can't hear very well. Didn't find the material too interesting but lecture wasn't bad as he showed several videos. Tests were pretty easy if you just read. Multiple choice questions and an essay to write from a choice of two.

Had him for 110 and 298. Prof Turner cares that you do well. Tests are easy if you study for them for even just a little bit of time. The classroom experience really depends on you and your classmates. If you participate, class doesn't seem so bad. If you don't, class can seem to drag on forever. Likes to show clips from 60 Minutes that relate to the topic you're learning about which are usually interesting.

Very enjoyable class. Didn't find the course material too interesting, but Professor Turner is the man. Easy grader, very funny, showed many videos in class, and just a very nice and knowledgeable teacher.

In short, this man is da bomb. Extremely chill and down to earth. For BMGT110, he assigns mass amounts of reading for each class but you really only need to get the basic idea and review bold (and italicized) terms. You watch some interesting movies in class that he knows are not too exciting but it all helps provide you with a basic insight into what business actually is, and that's what this course is all about

Hugh Turner was the best professor ever. Great personality and approachable. He's funny too. You can talk to him about almost anything without feeling uncomfortable. Class was easy.
