Perez is really sweet and wants everyone to do well. I turned in multiple essays late, and she gave me full credit. She gave me an extension on my final paper because I was swamped with other work. She genuinely cares about womens studies, and for those of us who are just taking it for a core requirement, she manages to spark interest in the topic.

I love professor perez!!!!! I agree with Lindsay, we had great class discussions and she loved when people spoke up and had differing opinions. We had, I wanna say four or five 2 page (single spaced) papers worth 20 points, two 3 page papers worth 60 points, and like four or five super easy quizzes worth 20 points each. We were supposed to read two books, but all we did was discuss them and had a few questions on our quiz about them. To be honest you don't have to do any of the readings as long as you come to class and listen to the discussions, then again if you actually do the readings you can participate in the discussions. Then again it's WMST so the theme is the same; sex is biological, gender is socially constructed.

Ana Perez is amazing. She is very lenient and the material we learn is very interesting. You can never be bored in class, as a matter of fact, she is very engaging. She does give reading quizzes, but they are usually straight from discussion, so if you paid attention then you should do well. She gave us 4-5 papers to write, all of which were graded leniently. And most of the time you had a choice of what topic or reading you want to write about. This class was a VERY easy A, I would definitely recommend her.

I LOVE Professor Perez!!! The small class was great for the class discussions. She engaged the class, and I think that most people really enjoyed what we were learning about due to her amazing teaching skills. I think the other reviews were from last spring, so the assignments I had were a bit different but I still agree that this is a VERY easy A. She does grade very leniently and the assignments are really easy. We had 2 reading responses, 2 in class assignments (was supposed to be three but she made one assignment worth more and got rid of the class in class assignment), 1 research portfolio (graded VERY leniently), 1 midterm (which was take-home and REALLY easy), 1 paper (about a book we read and also really easy), 1 group presentation (we got a perfect grade and didn't really do much work), and a take-home final (REALLY REALLY easy). Basically, if you need to fulfill a CORE requirement this is a great way to do so! Enjoy!

If you are thinking about taking this class, try to get this Professor! The class is not difficult at all and is mainly comprised of class discussions, which are easy and sometimes pretty interesting. She teaches the class not only with a focus on feminist issues, but also on racial and poverty issues. The good thing about Perez is that while she does bring up a lot of these kinds of topics, she is very fair and does not force you to take a certain side. There is no homework, just three quizzes, two small projects, a midterm, and a take home final. The quizzes and midterms are based on four readings that you are given beforehand and if you can skim them enough to get the main idea you will get full credit. She grades very leniently. This is a great class to take if you are trying to fulfill diversity CORE.

Very intelligent and helpful professor. She is young and can relate to students and speaks elloquiently but in an understandalbe way. Class is laid back and a lot of discussion which is easy and interesting. The workload is quite easy, papers are easy to write and are graded leiniently. The midterm and final are all essay but are given ahead of time. Overall very good professor and easy A.
