| Anonymous Course: MATH220 Grade Expected: January 28, 2008, 2:46 pm | She's fine if you expect to be able to learn everything yourself. She won't be able to teach it to you, which I always assumed was the point of going to class. The class is made up of kids who took AP Calc in high school and know everything and those who didn't and are at a loss, there really isn't anywhere in the middle. Avoid her if you can. |
| Anonymous Course: MATH241H Grade Expected: B- December 16, 2007, 6:15 pm | She is a fine teacher. If you do your out of class work you will be able to do well in class. She is helpful and friendly. Middle of the pack as far as teachers go in my opinion. |
| Anonymous Course: MATH220 Grade Expected: A- November 29, 2007, 11:19 am | She makes sense and she follows the text book, but you really have to pay attention and attend lecture. If you go to class and do the recommended practice problems regularly, I don't see why most people wouldn't do reasonably well. She's not the most stimulating lecturer, but she has a syllabus and knows her material. She's approachable and helpful if you have questions after class, and her TAs are good, too. |
| rginsber Course: MATH220 Grade Expected: November 4, 2007, 11:42 am | I would not take this class with her. She is a really bad teachers and its hard to understand material if you haven't take some type of calc in the past. |
| Anonymous Course: MATH220 Grade Expected: A November 2, 2007, 11:34 am | Melda did not know how to take control of her class, and I really could not learn anything with the constant distractions of people talking and doing things other than listening to the teacher. She failed to interact with students, wasn't a great speaker, and many people did not show up to class. She did give pop quizzes in lecture tho. Three exams and a final, and quizzes in discussion each week. You should go to discussion anyway, because that's probably where you will learn the material. |
