Reviews for Elaine A. Anderson
Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: UNIV348 Grade Expected: A November 29, 2011, 7:30 am | Had her for Federal Semester- Health Policy. One of the nicest and most engaging professors I've had at Maryland. Super energetic about health and very receptive to students' ideas and concerns. |
| rbterp Course: UNIV348 Grade Expected: A March 7, 2009, 7:33 pm | Dr. Anderson was a very approachable professor and this course was really great because it only has about 25 people in it. The book assigned for the class is absolutely great - understandable yet informative. There are also some interesting guest speakers who come in - a nutrition expert from NIH, a maryland state representative, and more. There is also an interesting class trip to D.C. to visit the Capitol (Rep. Hoye'rs office) and meet people working for non-profits and Dept. of Health and Human Services. However, Dr. Anderson focused a lot on family centered health policy, since she is a family science professor. Although we did learn some about health policy, this was not the best introductory health policy course since many of the lectures related to family issues. However, I still enjoyed the class and would recommend it to others - just make sure to do the readings if you really want to learn about all of the aspects of US health policy. |
