By far the easiest professor I've had so far in college. If he is teaching a class you are taking, then get in his section.

Everything said below is true, so I'm not going to repeat it. I can't vouch for other professors, but when Weigand taught this course it was simple. Basic math and looking up things in your book when needed. All tests and exams are open book/note, so if you don't get an A in there you can't blame anyone but yourself.

CHBE101 doesn't have a page yet but it is exactly the same as ENCH215. I won't lie, he's not the most engaging professor there is but his class is one of the easiest classes i have ever taken. One fault I find with him is that he will go over the homework before you turn it in if someone asks him to (9 times out of 10). The material is all conservation of mass, conservation of energy, and unit cancellation. If you remember those three concepts you will fly through this class with an easy A. Some parts of the material will require you to go to class to understand them (such as fractional yield) but you really can learn all the material from the book if you so desire. His exams can take the whole time if you aren't prepared but you should usually finish with about 5-10 min to spare if you understand the material. His policy about attendance is that he doesn't really have one. If you just turn in your homework he'll let you leave whenever even during the middle of class. However he'll try to startle you on your way out(and most of the time fail to notice) if you chose the latter. His jokes are repetitive and corny but funny from time to time. He's a good professor and a nice guy I just think he needs to be more serious about the difficulty of the material.

First, Weigand is a very boring teacher!

Second, everything he teaches is straight from the book.

Third, if you ask him, he will go over the first parts of hw assignments before they are due. (This is one of the main reasons to go to class)

Fourth, he spends a LOT of time on the easiests part of the course and very little on the hard parts (the energy balances). Even though the tests are open book/open notes, the one on energy balances was quite hard.

Fifth, he is actually quite funny at times, but likes to repeat jokes.

I would recommend him.

He does not teach very well, but the class is very easy. Basically he goes over exactly what the book says and it's very boring. But because it's just what the book says you don't have to pay attention and you can just learn from the book, which is usually pretty good. His classes are very easy though because he doesn't cover much

Weigand is without question the easiest chemE prof. there is. His 215 class is pretty easy. He spends most of the semester on mass balances, but spends the last few weeks on energy balances. Be careful with the energy balances, he doesn't really teach it too much.
