Reviews for Marjorie S. Venit
Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: ARTH200 Grade Expected: A December 17, 2010, 5:27 pm | I took this class because of all the great reviews. Dont be fooled. I am a hard worker, and this was an unbelievable time commitment when it came to studying for tests. It DOES require work. Alot of the assignment take me back to my middle school days. (meaning they are really stupid and a waste of time) And I'm not saying this because I got a bad grade - I got an A. But I hated the way it was taught. I am an art lover, and a painter and I love analyzing art. This class is simply repeating what the teacher says with no emphasis on the actual art. She gives a minuscule amount of time to answer the test questions regarding the art pieces, so you have no time to actually look at the work. |
| Anonymous Course: ARTH200 Grade Expected: A December 15, 2010, 4:01 pm | I think she is a bit boring but I would blame that mostly on the material. She was able to answer many of my questions outside of class, and the best thing is if you do well on the first two exams, you do not have to take the third (I actually stopped going to class). The projects are based off of your TA but if you put in a decent amount of effort you should do fine. The final you come up with the questions and can bring a notecard before to help study from. Overall good course, a decent amount of work, pretty boring, and if you can't memorize do not take this class. |

| Anonymous Course: ARTH200 Grade Expected: A December 4, 2010, 8:29 pm | This class was not fun. I am not a lazy study and I do expect an A in the class but this class required a lot of work and time that I do not think should have been. The professor lectures were extremely boring. I would only take this if its for core req. |
| joepenn1 Course: HONR248M Grade Expected: A May 1, 2009, 4:10 am | Dr. Venit is a wonderful teacher who both knows her material very well and is more open to student interpretation then any other teacher I've encountered. Class is a bit dull but I blame the material, she tries her best. Expect an A with good research on the few assignments she gives. Very approachable and knowledgeable. |
| Jbarry12 Course: ARTH200 Grade Expected: A December 17, 2008, 8:57 pm | This class is extremely easy, but requires u to attend class everyday. she has power points but u need to take notes on what she says or u miss the big points. Exams are easy and the term project is a cake walk |
| Anonymous Course: ARTH200 Grade Expected: B December 10, 2008, 2:05 pm | Venit is a bit boring but her tests are really easy if you study well enough. You just have to know the name of the object, the date, period, culture, significance, and artist (if there was one recorded). On the test there are some questions you have to answer and there are also unknown objects and you have to guess the time period and culture it is from. The term project is easy and really important. The class is basically made up of the test and project but everything is easy. You just have to go to lecture everyday or you will fall behind. I recommend this class if you are looking for a relaxing class. |
