Reviews for Kenneth Tuite
Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: CLAS270 Grade Expected: A- December 27, 2009, 7:40 pm | Professor Tuite knows his stuff, but that is completely irrelevant in relation to how you will do in the class. He is very soft spoken and tends to stutter, making it very difficult to focus on what he is saying. His lecture slides include a lot of information, but not a lot of explanation on material that isn't that exciting. The exams are entirely writing. If you don't do all of the readings, you will not do well. Any understanding I had of what was going on in this class I got from my TA in discussion. Many of the students are classics majors so if you are looking to take this just to fulfill your HL (like I did), I suggest taking something else because it is no easy A. On the plus side, if Jocelyn Cooper is your TA she's really good. She's really understanding and definitely knows her Greek literature. She's a little bit of a hard grader but if you come to her with your papers before they are do she'll tell you exactly the argument you need to make and what you need to change to get an A. |
| Anonymous Course: CLAS271 Grade Expected: B May 17, 2009, 7:39 pm | Very good teacher who covers the material very well. He expects a lot of participation out of the class, so actually read the books and you'll do just fine. Get the essays out of the way early and even they won't be a problem. They are not particularly difficult if you keep up with the reading. He is a quiet person however, so sit up near the front! |
| Anonymous Course: CLAS270 Grade Expected: B- December 17, 2008, 12:20 am | Very nice guy with no evil intentions- he just is a soft speaker with a stutter that makes it hard to concentrate on the actual material. This is not an easy A. The entire class had one TA that was not nice with grading. There will be pop quizzes if you don't offer to read out loud. Bring your books to class. |
| Sita87 Course: CLAS271 Grade Expected: April 20, 2008, 2:16 pm | This is not the easiest course, but he tries to make it as understandable as possible. He's tough, but fair, and a nice person as well. If there's something you're confused on, he will try to help you if he can. Not the course to take if you hate reading though, as he will pull out pop quizzes if he thinks no one is keeping up with the reading. |
