Reviews for Roberts Christine A White
Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: CCJS230 Grade Expected: October 26, 2011, 3:59 pm | Professor White is hands down the WORST teacher, maybe even the worst human being that exists. She is simply not a nice person. I envy the person that interacts with this devil willingly. Do NOT take her and stay far away from her. I will be throwing a party on the day this women's true soul comes out and she gets fired. |

You still learn a lot of theories pertaining to juvenile delinquency as well as landmark cases which form today's laws. She always offers extra credit on her final exams, so I got 100 on the final. Also, in whatever class she teaches, there is always a really interesting novel to read. Last Chance in Texas was amazing. Attendance isn't really mandatory, but if you go it can boost your grade because she notices who's there and who's not, even if the class is huge, and she bases your participation grade off of that. I really recommend taking her. |
| Anonymous Course: CCJS350 Grade Expected: B October 31, 2010, 7:16 am | Long story short, she's shoudn't be teaching. She is disorganized, she's ALWAYS 5-10 minutes late, her powerpoint slides are all over the place with minimal amount of useful infomation, and she wastes too much time during class listening to students' opinions. They are "opinions" not hard facts. I paid money to learn hard facts, important points, and concepts from the professor; I feel that I wasted my time and money taking her classes. Making you do an individual presentation in a class of 200+ students? On current events? Are we in middle school? What a great way to waste a class!? Most of the stuff that I learned in her classes (if I even did learn anything at all), was from reading the textbook and doing some research on wikipedia for some of the facts that she didn't explain. I can say honest and true, that I have not learned a thing from her lectures. If you want to take a class that basically makes you waste time and money, knock yourself out. If you actually do want to learn about criminology, don't even consider taking her classes. I normally don't ever write reviews, but this is so serious that I had to put a word of warning... |
| Anonymous Course: CCJS230 Grade Expected: A April 28, 2010, 10:22 pm | She's a really nice and engaging teacher. Her tests are scenario-based rather than straight facts, but most of the scenarios she mentions in her PowerPoints. The case studies can be a little hard to grasp if you've never done them before, but you get the hang of it after a while. Although you should attend class in case she calls on you, once she does you really don't have to go to class after that since she only calls on a person once. Still, her class is interesting enough to attend on a daily basis. |
| Anonymous Course: CCJS352 Grade Expected: A November 11, 2009, 11:16 am | So the teacher gave me a C when i really deserved a B. I had to send her the calculations of all my grades to prove to her that I deserved a B, then she changed it. She is a horrible lecturer and her tests are all over the place. Def not taking her again. |

| Anonymous Course: CCJS230 Grade Expected: A April 7, 2009, 10:15 am | Lecture can get boring but you have to go because she calls on people and you have to participate when she calls on you (its part of your grade). Overall she is an interesting professor and is very knowledgeable. I would recommend you take a class with her. |
| Anonymous Course: CCJS350 Grade Expected: A December 15, 2008, 6:34 pm | The lectures are pretty boring- lots of PowerPoint reading. On Fridays, there are presentations by students that take up most of the class, so I would suggest not going. The lectures are based off the readings, which is nice, and the other book "No Matter How Loud I Shout" by Edward Humes is worth reading whether you take the class. AWESOME book about real-life juvenile delinquents. |
