Reviews for Papoian, G
Average Rating:| infection530 Course: CHEM482 Grade Expected: A? November 11, 2011, 6:55 pm | Papoian is tough. No question about it. He gives far too much homework (15-20 problems a week - with some problems taking 20+ minutes to complete). The reason the homework problems take so long is because his lectures do absolutely nothing to prepare you for the problems. Instead, you have to search through the text book for clues to solve them. (Keep in mind I have a 100% on the homeworks - which most students don't, so I'm not just a slacker complaining). The homework problems will involve excessive amounts of algebra (expanding out terms like (e^-x( x^3 + 2x^2 -3x +1) ^ 4, reorganizing those terms, and then condensing them to prove something. He seems to be rushing through everything, and only covering the topics superficially in class. He is all over the place when he's writing on the board. He posts the lecture notes online which is nice, but again, they do very little to help you with the homework - and the homework doesn't do a whole lot to help you with the exams. Simply put, only take Quantum with Papoian if you are willing to spend 5-10 hours a week struggling reading through the textbook, and doing the homework problems. |
