There was a lot of reading. A lot. A short story or book every week, but I guess that's to be expected in a lit course?

Quite a bit of writing as well (3 papers and emailed responses to her for every reading). However there were no quizzes, and it doesn't seem like she spent too much time reading everyone's papers. Me and everyone around me always got A- on our papers. I took this course a year ago and she was pregnant then, so I'm sure her grading is even more slack these days with a baby to deal with.

She isn't very enthusiastic, maybe even a little cold, but definitely never judgmental which I find English teachers can get. Has very good comments or add-ons to your comments, and is willing to talk to you about your papers or the readings.

I really enjoyed this class! We did read a lot but it was never more than one book/story at a time. The classes are all discussions based off the books. If you participate in discussions she definitely notices you and appreciates it. Participating is also a big part of your grade.

There are one page, double spaced responses due about once a week. You can discuss whatever you want to, or just discuss what you were confused about. It's simple.

Theres a midterm paper and a final paper, as well as a final exam. You can pick your topics for both papers, but they are research papers. She does give a long time to get it done and she constantly offers to read through whatever you have written when you write it.

She also says that she doesn't like exams as a form of intelligence measurement, so her final will consist of you picking 5 prompts to write a two paragraphs about each. If you listen and participate in discussion, you won't have an issue. She also says it shouldn't take the full 2 hours. She isn't trying to make the class harder than it should be.

I also found this class interesting, which I was afraid I wasn't.

Easy class however she does not seem to be prepared for class with topics because we all end up staring awkwardly at each other. Readings are okay.
