Reviews for Megan Alesia Monserez
Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B+ May 14, 2011, 2:15 pm | She is nice yet she grades papers so harshly, and her expectations are so high. I realized that I need to spend more than 15 hours on long papers and 5 hours on short papers in order to get an A, so I did. That is a ridiculous amount of work. But taking this course definitely improved my writing skills. I don't really like how she wants us to print a lot of handouts and sample papers, I spent at least 10 dollars on printing for this class. In other classes, materials are all given to students. Overall, she is an effective teacher. It is not very easy to earn As in her class though. I ended up getting an A- but I know how much effort I put in to earn that grade. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: A January 22, 2011, 4:13 pm | She is a great teacher to take for ENGL101. I am not a great writer, but I received an A in this class. GO to her office hours- she helps you on your paper and also she will see that you put effort in so she will give you a better grade. She also gives one late pass for any essay. Take Her. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B December 7, 2010, 2:38 pm | Prof.Monserez is a very nice person and has a kind heart however she is quite strict about attendance and her work. I have witnessed several great writers including myself receive nothing higher than a B on our papers. She tears your paper apart, I do not reccommend you taking her for ENGL101 instead try Nicole Gurley, I hear she's awesome |
| Anonymous Course: CMLT275 Grade Expected: May 19, 2010, 11:03 pm | Monserez is ridiculous about class attendance, miss one and you lose a LETTER grade. While she is nice and can be of help she is not someone I would choose to learn form again. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: A April 26, 2010, 3:33 pm | Ms. Monserez is really clear about what expects from her students. It isn't difficult to do well as long as you listen when she talks and take note of what she finds important. I never went to see her in office hours other than the one mandatory time so it isn't necessary to go to do well. I definitely recommend her for ENGL101. |
| 800meters Course: CMLT275 Grade Expected: B December 19, 2009, 11:24 am | Professor Monserez is passionate about what she teaches. I find that her grading on our three papers was strict. I know my papers were good yet she tore them apart, accusing me of "manipulating" the text. But isn't that what literature is all about? She often saw the text in a different way from me, which is definitely not good when it comes to the papers. Participation did not count toward the final grade. She's really really nice, though. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B December 18, 2009, 11:22 pm | Ms. Monserez was a very good teacher. As the person before me wrote, she is always available and explains what she wants on the papers. She sometimes grades very tough and I never got better than a B on any of my papers (and Im a fairly decent writer) but gives you the chance to redeem yourself by doing peer editing. Overall she is a very nice lady and good professor but can grade tough at times. During conferences she really helps with papers so go conference with her! |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: A December 3, 2009, 12:59 pm | Ms. Monserez is a good teacher. She is always available for extra help with essays if you are willing to put in the time and e-mail her or go to her office hours. She is very clear on what she expects in essays and she grades very fairly. She finds ways to make most of her classes interesting and the things she teaches in classes actually help when it comes to writing the essays. Overall she is a good teacher and a nice person. |
