Reviews for M. Coleman Miller
Average Rating:| Lunar01 Course: ASTR100 Grade Expected: B February 29, 2012, 8:47 am | Professor Miller is very passionate about astronomy and explains it in a very easy-to-understand way. The lectures are very dynamic and does not consists entirely of powerpoints but also had videos and demonstrations of the concepts he is trying to explain. My personal favorite is when he asked for volunteers and had them inhaling light and heavy gases. Their voices after inhaling the gases were hilarious to listen to. The discussion sections are a big part of the grade so make sure you come to them. In general the discussion are very helpful in reviewing the materials in lectures and also where your homeworks and tests are returned. As for the homeworks, they are easy to complete if you come to lectures and use the book to answer them. If the answers are not available in either of those sources, just use Google. The tests contain questions about the stuff covered in lectures and the books so again, make sure you pay attention when you're in lectures and at least skim through the book. The class also has a lot of extra credits in lectures, homeworks, and discussion sections so it should help in boosting your grade. I learned a lot about the solar system and the universe in this class. I highly recommend it if you want to learn more about space and the universe in general. Even if you don't like the stuff, you will find the class to be interesting because of the professor's passion and approach to his subject. |
| Anonymous Course: KNES157O Grade Expected: A December 23, 2009, 2:11 pm | Matt is a great guy. He lectures for a little while in the beginning of class then lets you get your workout in. Very fair grader (easy A if you show up and do your thing), easy to talk to, and I actually learned some stuff in his class. |
