Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: ENGL394 Grade Expected: B May 21, 2011, 9:05 pm | Fun teacher to have and there's a method to what sometimes seems like madness. The only knock I have is that he didn't clearly communicate the requirements for some of the assignments in the course. For example, we had a 3-pg paper due after our final class of the semester that he only verbally communicated to us for about 5 minutes and never gave a handout explaining the requirements/expectations. Definitely makes the course tougher not knowing what the professor is looking for. Despite that, McNeilly is a great guy and you can tell he is trying to help his students succeed in the long run. |
| Anonymous Course: HIST355 Grade Expected: B May 18, 2011, 12:58 pm | Really nice guy, efficient teacher? Not so much. Two tests and one paper or presentation. We didn't have our midterm till 2 weeks after spring break, so we had no grades until late April. Final was 6 Essays and 4 ID's. I would take him again. |
| Anonymous Course: HIST157 Grade Expected: B+ December 20, 2010, 11:57 pm | Overall, he was a fun teacher to have. Its shocking how he comes to class empty handed and can talk about the course off the top of his head. He makes jokes and tells stories occasionally, which is amusing. He tells you that the test would be the questions directly for the study questions in the book and tells you which key terms and questions to look at. You will enjoy this teacher, but that doesn't mean you can slack off. |
| Anonymous Course: HIST156 Grade Expected: B November 28, 2010, 12:23 pm | He is pretty nice guy and can be funny, but his class can also be boring at times. You would think his tests would be easy because he gives you all the possible essay questions that could be on the test, but he grades pretty hard. The whole class thought they got an A on the first test but most got a B. He loves group work and we had to write a group paper which is kind of annoying trying to find time that fits everyone's schedule. Overwall he was just ok as a teacher |
| Anonymous Course: HIST157 Grade Expected: May 2, 2010, 7:31 pm | Dr. McNeilly is a very interesting professor who knows his stuff. I had a great TA that made the class even better. Highly recommend. |
| Anonymous Course: HIST156 Grade Expected: B November 6, 2008, 10:03 pm | His lectures were taught really well and incorporates some funny stories or side-tracks to something else to keep people's attention at times. However, the TA was terrible! ...and she did all the grading. The exams are all essay-format so the TA has a strong influence depending on how harshly they grade. |
