Reviews for Laura Maccioni
Average Rating:| rbterp Course: SPAN301 Grade Expected: A March 7, 2009, 7:50 pm | Laura was an average instructor. Often times she could not explain grammatical rules very well, nor was she very clear about what would be on the exams, so I recommend buying the Manual de Gramatica (which is only recommended). The class overall is fairly easy - just 3 short papers and the exams are straightforward. |
| vdawg Course: SPAN361 Grade Expected: A December 31, 2007, 12:54 pm | She's a very interesting lecturer, but there's so much material to cover in this course that her extensive lecturing (and poor time management) can be an issue. Also, she has this horribly annoying habit of beginning all discussions with "So, what did you think?" or an equivalent. So it might help to come to class with some talking points/opinions in mind. She's terrrible about returning assignments, but she grades really fairly. Classes are generally interesting and she goes waaaay out of her way to accomodate non-fluent speakers. She makes a good-faith effort to answer all questions, but usually overloads you with information in response to even the most trivial inquiry. She's basically a good teacher and nice human being and all, but tends to be a little "flaky" (not returning papers, lack of feedback, not answering e-mails). |
