Reviews for Sean Dodd Lawton
Average Rating:| satz24 Course: MATH430 Grade Expected: C May 18, 2009, 3:22 pm | This course was kinda cool, if you like math and liked geometry in high school. I feel like i really got better at proving things, a necessary skill for math majors. in terms of lawton, he's like an interactive text book, except he makes mistakes. not a ton of mistakes but every so often he'll mess up BAD, and have to send an email out to the class taking it back. the grading is fair if you know your stuff. beware, the first test is what ruins the semester for you; it's very easy to forget which axioms and theorems are in which geometry. although this was challenging and a good amount of work each weekend, i really liked the class, and lawton was pretty okay by the end. |

It was obvious that he put effort into selecting literature that was a good representative of the time we were studying (ancient to medieval) and he was very well knowledged in his interpretation of the texts. I also liked that he was very into class input, and always stressed that there could be more than one way to read the books. He is very picky about grading papers though. |
| Anonymous Course: MATH430 Grade Expected: B December 17, 2008, 11:21 am | By far the worst professor in the math department. He let his doctorate go to his head and thinks he is so much better than the students he teaches. He has no idea how to teach and has a terrible attitude. He continuously comes to class late and expects students to stay after class is over so her can finish his lesson. his tests are unfair and he thinks a 50 as a test average is a "good score" |
