Reviews for Nicole A. LaRonde-LeBlanc

Exams were very fair if not easy because she posts a list of topics that will be covered on the exam, an old exam from a previous year, and allows a note card for the exam. I would recommend doing the homework before taking the exam because some of the homework problems appeared on the exams. All in all, it's not that hard to get an A in her class if you're one of those people who are good at teaching themselves out of the book. |

Exactly....you're still reading this review now aren't you. Here's the low-down: I went to every class to take good notes, but at the end of the day realized the notes don't matter since everything is in the book and on the slides. Honestly just wait for 1 week before the exam when she posts the review questions/practice exam and memorize/study that since the exam is almost identical. The group assignments can be annoying but try to do well, because it can boost your grade. Lastly, we had a notecard for every exam to put whatever we wanted on it...this helped A LOT. Overall, boring professor (but she's SO NICE) and easy A for a difficult subject matter. It also takes minimal studying/effort until right before the exam. You will not regret choosing Dr. Laronde-Leblanc. |
| Anonymous Course: BCHM461 Grade Expected: B December 18, 2010, 3:16 pm | This woman has absolutely no idea how to teach. She reads straight from her slides in monotone for an hour and 15 minutes, and enjoys muttering important information so noone could hear. Going to class was completely pointless. I'm also pretty sure she has no clue what she's teaching since she often messed up problems halfway through during class and mixed up certain terms that were opposites. She is also extremely lazy. She didn't get through all of the material for the semester by about 6 lectures...so now if you're taking Biochem 2 you're pretty much screwed. However, the one shining beacon for this class is that she recycles questions, uses the review guide WORD FOR WORD on the tests, and allows you to use a 4x6 notecard on every test (including the exam). So yeah, if you want an easy grade, take her class. If you don't want to be royally screwed for biochem 2, don't take her. |
