Reviews for Amy Tara Karp
Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B December 14, 2011, 2:02 pm | Ms. Karp is a really nice lady and she's fun to talk with in class. The class was all discussion oriented. However our final paper was like 10 pages and that was a pain. The only problem is that she is a really hard grader. Not everyone is as good at writing as her, ya know? But you'll have no problems with her as a person. She's really down to Earth, however, you might hate her when you get some C's and D's. |
| Anonymous Course: CMLT270 Grade Expected: A July 14, 2010, 10:05 am | Go to every class because participation counts for a lot. not hard at all as long as you keep up with the readings. it is a lot of reading but only two papers and an easy final (consisting of 2 essays). She may come off as harsh and give vague instructions, but in the end is a lenient grader |
| gbunz Course: CMLT270 Grade Expected: February 2, 2010, 8:41 pm | She is really cool and approachable. It's a chill class and you get to discuss...your opinions actually matter! And participation counts for a large portion of your grade! I highly recommend this class....especially if you love to read and talk..definitely one of the best classes i've taken so far.... |
| BriBri013 Course: ENGL212 Grade Expected: A November 14, 2007, 2:01 pm | Amy's class was all discussion oriented, and we could pretty much talk about whatever we wanted. So it was kind of important to read (or at least skim, SparkNote it, read a little, etc) because otherwise you will have nothing to say. I really liked that format. I love English, so if the whole "talking about how the book makes you feel" thing doesn't work for you than her teaching style won't. Grades were from essays which I thought she graded rather easily. I really enjoyed the break from lecturers talking at me and instead discussing the book from our perspectives. I'd recommend her classes if you are interested in that format. |
