Some people are a lil offended by his comments, but if you have a good sense humor he's funny; tries to liven up the class. He tries, so please, try as well and participate. UMD Honors grad, now a physician. Need the book (maybe?) to write papers, usually researching online is fine. Maybe 4 paper during semester (each out of ten) and a final worth a lil more. Not many points, so if you mess up once it really sucks. |
| Anonymous Course: HONR269D Grade Expected: July 22, 2009, 9:32 pm | Coming into this class, I knew very little about health care, and leaving the class, I was not satisfied with what I had learned. The class entails that you already have a lot of background information on health care, so if you're taking this class to learn a lot, I would not recommend it. Other than that, Dr. Jung is often interesting and funny. |

He really wants to hear students' opinions rather than regurgitated, memorized answers, so he will always play devil's advocate and really urge you to back up your answers and explain your reasoning. When I took the course, I had to write 5 papers, each about 5 pages long, on topics that included medicare and medicaid. The final project was interviewing a physician about health care systems. Dr. Jung can be very cynical and sarcastic sometimes, but as a board-certified physician now working for the Public Health Service, he brings lots of experience and insight to the course. |
