Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: A December 20, 2011, 5:14 pm | This guy is a fantastic teacher. In high school I was always a great essay writer, when I got here and got two B+ in a row, I was heartbroken, however he sat down with me and guided me along and helped me get over the hump. Now in ALL my classes, government to english, I get A's on my paper and learned how to write on a college level. Jerome isn't an easy grader, but its worth it. If you get an A on his papers, you can get an A anywhere else (his class is like New York). He's funny, makes class interesting, and I enjoyed the experience. TAKE THIS CLASS if you want to become a good essay writer. Or take some other guys class, get an easy A and then fail all your other papers cuz you never learned how to properly execute a college essay. |
| zhangsta Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B December 23, 2010, 2:21 pm | Pretty much as with most all writing teachers, to get good grades on his papers, you have to write like him. Personally, this was pretty hard for me to do considering his own writing is pretty mediocre. He'll also take off points for no reason. If you really want to learn how to write well, this guy is not the person you want to be taking. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B May 25, 2009, 3:28 pm | Yeah, he really was not that bad at all. I thought he kept the class kind of interesting and he is a funny guy. He does grade hard, but he gives you lots of feedback and makes himself available to help. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: A May 23, 2009, 8:06 pm | honestly not as bad as everyone on here makes him out to be. He does not give out many As, which he makes clear, but he DOES give them to those who deserve them. Remember, just because you THINK you deserve an A doesn't mean you do. My advice: I recommend that you talk to him outside of class and make conferences with him to show that you really care about your grade and genuinely want to become a good writer (or at least write his papers well). Also, MAKE SURE you take his advice on how to improve. He notices improvements in students. I went from getting B's on the papers to getting A- on the last few which ultimately got me an A in the class. Lastly, participate in class, do the readings before class, and do the homework he gives you. Essays were 65% of the grade and the other 35% was grade boosters. |

| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: B- December 20, 2008, 5:02 pm | one of the worst teachers i have ever had. he takes points off your paper for absolutely nothing and if you dont do all the extra bs stuff like revision reflection, he will take a whole letter grade off your paper. someone in my class took their paper to another english professor to grade and got an A on it and then Jerome gives that person a C- on the same paper. also gives you so much unnecessary work for his class. my advice: get out while you still can and save yourself the trouble of having to take this a**hole for ENGL101. |
| Anonymous Course: ENGL101 Grade Expected: c- December 2, 2008, 11:46 am | Mr. Jerome will trick you into thinking he loves what he does, and that he is a nice guy the first couple of days of school. And I guess in away he isn't lying, he love to break your soul and take points off your paper for he smallest things. Then he doesn't understand why nobody wants to get involved in his class, because he makes everybody feel stupid. He rarely ever tells you what you do right, but will not think twice about telling you what you did wrong. I don't think anybody in my class has got an A on a paper yet. If you want to be stressed out for a whole semester then go right ahead and take his class. |
