It is worth it just to go to class to watch him get vortexed into a blank stare by his own typically simple examples. This class starts out pretty awesome actually. You gain the ability to analyze some interesting statics and dynamics problems applied to the musculoskeletal system. The second half is when this class is just a complete drag because of soooooooooooooooooooo much superfluous biololgy. We literally spent 4 or 5 weeks straight on just straight bio (which constituted a LARGE amount of his exams (this is where I lost all of my points.)) This wouldn't be a big deal if he directly connected it to what appeared to be upper level mechanics theory, but he did a HORRIBLE job in this regard. His notes are generally very vague, but if you really understand them (stare at them for long enough) then you should be able to do the homeworks just fine. The project turned out to be great. Like I said, I got particularly boned on the exams by all of the truely superfluous biology that I didn't give a shi* about. Bottom line - memorize the stupid biology crap for the tests, forget it, move on. Also make a really good cheat sheet with as much bio on it as you can. |

His exams were very straightforward, but tended to cover a lot of material so to do well, you need to know just about every small detail from lecture. He also loves to use matrices to solve just about everything so this class might be a little hard to follow unless you know linear algebra. Typically, his homeworks tended to be very mathy and based on examples he would work out in lecture so if you were careful and knew what you were doing, those were easy points. His exams tended to cover mostly the anatomical stuff he goes over in lecture with one or two math-based questions. |

He was frequently confused by his problems. The tests were very easy for people who had recently taken mechanics but those who had forgotten it did badly. |
