Average Rating:| Anonymous Course: ENES220 Grade Expected: A December 15, 2011, 7:36 pm | Great professor and really nice guy, and he wears a sick hat most of the time. He will really work with you in office hours until you understand. He definitely wants his class to do well. Exams are very fair, and grading is as well. As a lecturer, he does a lot of examples in order to make the material understandable, as well as show you how to get the right answer. Overall, definitely recommend taking him if you can. |
| zhangsta Course: ENES220 Grade Expected: A May 22, 2010, 11:38 am | awesome professor. he teaches what he thinks is important and is very good at explaining the concepts. exams were fairly straightforward and tended to test your understanding of the fundamentals rather than special cases. in lecture, he'll work out problems that either he made up or one from an old exam. |
| frakking_geek Course: ENES220 Grade Expected: December 31, 2009, 11:00 am | He teaches completely through example problems which made it difficult for me because I can't learn like that so it forced me to read and outline the book to understand how to do the problems he did during lecture. However, my only problem with him was the teaching style. He's extremely approachable and gives out his home phone number to ask him for any help at any time. Basically, the class is a bit like ENES102 all over again, if you do the homework and all the practice problems for the exam, you'll be fine. I think they're going to make all the sections a bit bigger for next semester due to budget cuts though so it'll be twice the size of a normal enes class for anyone taking it after this fall 09 semester. |
| Anonymous Course: ENES220 Grade Expected: B December 20, 2009, 11:17 am | Great guy! He is a decent lecturer, tends to teach through example problems. He often talks about applications, and real life things that relate to the materiel. He is always willing to meet outside of class. He gives out his phone number and encourages students to call with questions. He is one teacher that wants you to do well, and will sit with you until you understand the material. |

| Var Course: ENES102 Grade Expected: B July 8, 2008, 9:23 am | He is clear, straightforward, and more than willing to help if you ask. Works through example or homework problems slowly but carefully. I did not find myself in need of a textbook to work any problems or study until about halfway through the semester. A word of caution, though: It is extremely important that you pay closest attention when he is teaching the concepts of the course rather than just equations or going through problems. Knowing the concepts and thinking about how you can apply them are key to succeeding in statics. |
| Anonymous Course: ENES102H Grade Expected: December 30, 2007, 8:24 pm | He tends not to explain much in class, and often dawdles on problems, leading to a total of 1 or 2 problems being finished. In addition, he doesn't provide much in terms of actually teaching the material, and it is the responsibility of the student to read from the textbook, which isn't any better. In terms of tests, a piece of advice would be to disregard the examples he gives you, since the test questions will be nowhere near simple and easy as that example. |
| scroofoo Course: ENES102H Grade Expected: A- October 23, 2007, 8:01 am | I had him for ENES102 but I think the same will apply. He is a great lecturer and fair grader. Nothing is mind-blowing about the exams or homework. Work consists of weekly homeworks from the book, a project, and 3-4 tests. Statics is pretty much straight vector math and some physics 1 concepts. Supplement your notes from lecture with reading the book (its a well-written book) to get pretty easy A's on exams. |
