Average Rating:| thejaybird2013 Course: ARAB104 Grade Expected: A June 1, 2011, 9:05 am | I had Ms. Cherrouk for ARAB 104 AND 105 and I really loved her a lot. She is from Morocco so she's a native arabic speaker. She is really sweet and so willing to slow down and help you with anything you don't understand. The best way to ensure that you stay in her good graces and do well in the class is to come to her office hours, especially in the begining of the semester. It establishes a relationship and shows that you really have a strong desire to learn the language well. The class moves extremely fast in the begining (you rush through Alif Baa) but slows down significantly when you start Al Kitaab. If you want to learn Arabic and have the tenacity to struggle through it, then you'll do well and appreciate her as a teacher. Good Luck! |

She is unhelpful, cannot explain grammar concepts (which is fundamental to learning Modern Standard), and she is downright rude towards her non-favorites. Avoid her if you can, she almost killed my love for the Arabic language. |

She makes getting good grades possible, but if you actually expect to learn anything do not take her. She has great difficulty explaining anything and leaves you with no choice but to teach everything to yourself. She assumes to know your question and answers it without even listening. She is nice but not a good teacher at all. |

She tries to keep the lectures engaging (which can be hard in a two hour long class). I would strongly recommend her. |
| Anonymous Course: ARAB304 Grade Expected: December 19, 2008, 4:16 pm | She's really nice but has difficulty explaining things clearly - the more questions you ask, the more confusing her explanation gets. It's not too hard to get a good grade in the class, if you're interested. |
