Reviews for Melinda Chateauvert
Average Rating:| goTERPS19 Course: AASP411 Grade Expected: December 3, 2009, 10:33 am | AASP411 is an interesting class that you can learn a lot from but many of the texts that Mindy assigns are very boring. They are also very repetititve. It feels like you are reading the same thing everyday. The midterm, final, and research paper account for 70 percent of your grade which is not horrible. Ten percent is participation and attendance. 20 percent is for quizzes, exercises and homework but you are never given any of those things. The readings are boring but Mindy is really cool if you do the readings. She snapped a few times this semester because nobody was participating, which to her meant no one read. She likes to involve the class in discussions. I do not know if I would or would not recommend the class but Mindy is a pretty cool lady. |
| babygnau Course: HONR249O Grade Expected: A- December 3, 2008, 12:02 pm | Honors 249O is definitely one of the best classes umd has to offer. The class provides a deep look into the civil rights movement and covers a lot of material skipped over in high school classes. Pretty much all you do is go to class and watch a movie for 3 hours once a week. There are 3 papers due throughout the semester, and a discussion board on elms in which you talk about the movies you watch, which range from the Greensboro Sit ins to Planet of the Apes lol. It's an easy yet intriguing class and it will boost your GPA. The material is also unbiased, it is just the facts, no extreme off the wall viewpoints. Also Melinda Chateauvert is an excellent teacher for this course. She is very passionate about the civil rights movement and picks great movies for the topic. Very friendly and willing to help out any student. Take this class if you can. |
