She is very enthusiastic about the subject and really wants her students to learn the material. She is very considerate and approachable. Lectures are low key and interesting. She is very clear about her expectations and helps you prepare for her exams and papers. She really strives to help her students. It was a pleasure taking this class and I learned a lot. |

| Anonymous Course: ARTH250 Grade Expected: A November 17, 2008, 2:50 pm | Dr. Bernier was very knowledgeable in the subject because she experienced a large portion of it first hand. Very willing to offer help and even gave me answers and an image to the paper we had to write on. |
| jessgord Course: ARTH250 Grade Expected: A- November 14, 2008, 8:14 pm | She was a fantastic professor. She actually does archaeological work in Peru and her lectures always hold your attention and keep you interested. She's also funny and has an adorable accent. She's great at explaining the cultures' ideas and how they're represented by the artifacts (aka all the information on the tests and quizzes). This has been my favorite elective course so far! |
| Anonymous Course: ARTH250 Grade Expected: A May 23, 2008, 3:25 pm | The class was one of the more interesting I have had at the university. It didn't require that much work (2 tests, a couple quizzes, and a short paper)and it was pretty easy to get a good grade. If you print out the images and write down the cultural signifcants for each you should be in good shape you should be in good shape. There are two books for the class but you can easily pass without picking up the book. There are also three articles that are required reading. They are fairly short and there will only be one question about the broad ideas of each on the exams. Overall, a interesting, fairly easy, well taught core. |

| kbe12478 Course: ARTH250 Grade Expected: December 21, 2007, 8:45 pm | Professor Bernier was a very good teacher. She was nice and always responded to the students needs; However, the TAs were extremely harsh graders, and they did not make it clear what was expected on quizzes and exams in a number of ways. It was very hard to argue with them for points, too. The assignments were not terribly difficult, but it was a lot of work for an introductory art course, especially for a non-art history major. If you are looking for a good HA core course, and you want an easy class, this is not for you. If you put in the effort, you might do well. |
| Anonymous Course: ARTH250 Grade Expected: A December 14, 2007, 6:07 pm | Great lecturer. Working archaeologist, so she really knows her stuff because she's experienced it. Interesting material and you can tell she's passionate about it, so it makes you interested in it. Powerpoints are put online and she basically feeds you the material that's on exams, so if you go to class, pay attention and take notes, you'll be fine. It's not an automatic A, but it's easily one of the most interesting classes, especially with this professor. |
