I wish I had gone to more classes than I did because when I did attend lecture, he really was a great professor.
Professor Andrews is a great lecturer and an all around like-able guy. His midterm was "easy" if you studied, and his final was "ok" if you studied. Even though it was easy material, I would recommend studying--off his study guide. It's a multiple choice exam that's relatively straightforward.
I admit that I was "lazy" at times, and I didn't do as well in the quizzes handed out in the mandatory discussion classes. That being said, these quizzes are easy if you review your notes beforehand. There are quite a few assignments and film worksheets, but these aren't difficult (and they actually tackle some pretty interesting topics!)
I especially loved how he kept his elms board updated with interesting snippets of information/articles. It was cute.

Professor Andrews is great! He's very down to earth and easy going. He tries to make the material relevant to us which is nice. He goes over about a chapter a week and lectures are always posted online. There are quizzes every week in discussion which are easy if you review the week's material. There are also assignment and film worksheets due each week which are pretty easy as well. The exams are really easy if you know the material. Overall, I highly recommend this class with him!

Professor Andrews is one of the chillest professors at the University of Maryland. He has one quiz a week in discussion on one chapter a week; the quizzes are very easy, multiple choice, and just on bolded vocab from the textbook. He is very engaging in lecture and uses interesting exercises to convey the topic clearly. We watched alot of documentaries and films, and we just had to do very easy film worksheets for them, each worth 50 points, so he pretty much gives you points. Unless you are truly lazy and don't do anything, it is difficult to get less than an A in his SOCY100 class

One of the best professors I've had throughout college! He's is a very easy tester - all the questions come from reading/lecture slides/weekly quizzes, and his review questions, which he answers in the class review session, are also on the exams. His mini-paper assignments are easy points, as are the quizzes. Plus the material is very interesting. He goes by one chapter every week so it's very easy to keep up, and the class was practically stress-free.

Hands down the best Sociology teacher I've had so far. His exams are very easy as most of the questions come from slides and the easy weekly quizzes. The class is paced one chapter a week so it's very difficult to get too far behind and not be able to catch up. He gives good examples to explain the concepts taught in class. Great teacher! Wish I could have him for another Sociology class.

like the review above me said, you're assigned one chapter per week, and you're given one quiz for each chapter. The quizzes are basic information, not meant to trick you, so if you've read the chapter it's almost impossible to do bad on them. The Mid-term and final are made up of the exact same questions you were given on the quizzes, plus a few more. There are three papers, but they're also relatively easy. If you're looking for a class that moves at a steady pace, and doesn't bombard you with difficult assignments and exams, than I suggest this class.

HIS CLASS IS AMAZING. the course is set up with one chapter per week, one quiz per week. the quizzes are so easy and they make up a good portion of your grade. if you miss a quiz, he has an assignment you can do to make it up for full credit. because theres no discussion, the lecture is usually full. he explains everything really well and e-mails constantly about updates. he's pretty funny too.
